Dr. Melissa Harrer, I graduated from Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. My philosophy on veterinary medicine is to provide high quality care, thorough examination, and comprehensive diagnostic and treatment options. I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially internal medicine and surgery; predominately soft tissue, orthopedic and laser surgery.

I was raised in Larchwood, a small town in northwest Iowa, where I spent a lot of time on my grandfather's farm. I had the opportunity to interact with many kinds of animals and decided at a young age to become a veterinarian.

My husband, Shane and I keep busy outside of work spending time with our wonderful son, 2 cats Mufasa and Roe, and our Doberman Maggie. When we have free time we enjoy hiking, biking, golfing and spending time in our back yard.
