Pet Boarding

The decision to board a pet is always a personal one. What's right for one pet may not be the best choice for another.

If you have a social dog, for example, your dog may feel isolated when you leave. In a boarding facility, he can play with other dogs and receive attention from staff, including our veterinarian in Council Bluffs and Glenwood. Yet if your pet has special needs, is shy, or aggressive with other animals, pets may be more stressed in a boarding environment than left in the care of a pet sitter.

Our Boarding Facilities

You may be wondering about our boarding facilities are at Animal Clinic of Council Bluffs and Glenwood Veterinary Clinic. One of the first things we should note is that we keep cats and dogs separated. Cats have a cat ward with individual cages. Litter boxes are cleaned twice daily.  Dogs are in kennel runs, where they can relax alone during the day. Three times a day, dogs get walked by one of our staff.

With cats and dogs, our staff is always checking appetite, elimination, and disposition. Our veterinarian in Council Bluffs and Glenwood is around should your pet need medical attention. If you would like to visit our pet boarding facility, we are happy to show you or answer any questions you have about pet boarding. Just give us a call!
